Prime Big Deal Days 2026,
without the countdown.

We have not found an official announcement of the 2026 Prime Big Deal Days dates in the Amazon sources checked on September 11. Recent US and European editions ran in early October. If you are deciding whether to buy in October or wait for Black Friday on November 27, start with your deadline, the exact model and a written target item price.

In short

Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s autumn event for Prime members. The official FAQ checked on September 11 still describes October 7–8, 2025. Those are last year’s dates.

Amazon's crossed-out number is usually a List Price supplied by a manufacturer or seller, or a Typical Price computed as a 90-day median. Neither is what the item cost last week.

Read the seller, the variant and the condition before the percentage, then check the same model elsewhere. Muchita does that check for free and takes no commission.

The calendar

When the October sale
actually happens.

Amazon announces the autumn event separately each year. The official FAQ checked on September 11 still names the 2025 event. We have not verified exact dates for the 2026 autumn sale, so this calendar keeps them unconfirmed.

It is the second of Amazon's two member sales. Prime Day 2026 has already been and gone, over four days in June rather than the usual July.

Event Dates Weekdays Worth knowing
Prime Big Deal Days 2023 October 10-11, 2023 Tuesday-Wednesday The first autumn edition under this name.
Prime Big Deal Days 2024 October 8-9, 2024 Tuesday-Wednesday Two days again, a week earlier.
Prime Big Deal Days 2025 October 7-8, 2025 Tuesday-Wednesday Announced September 15; run in eighteen countries.
Prime Big Deal Days 2026 Unconfirmed in the sources checked September 11 Unconfirmed Use a dated Amazon announcement for your country.
Prime Day 2026 June 23-26, 2026 Tuesday-Friday The summer member event, already past.
Black Friday 2026 November 27, 2026 Friday A later opportunity to compare. Future prices are unknown.
Cyber Monday 2026 November 30, 2026 Monday Usually the closing day of the same campaign.

Only Prime members buy at the event prices, and Amazon points new customers at a free 30-day trial. A trial becomes a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends, so put the cancellation date in your calendar the day you start it. In 2025 the sale ran in eighteen countries, and both the offers and the rules differ in each.

Your buying decision

Prime Big Deal Days or Black Friday?
Make the decision before the sale.

This is a decision framework, not a prediction of November prices. Write down the model, variant, maximum item price and date you need it. Compare offers on the same currency, tax basis, condition and purchase terms. Record shipping separately.

Your situation A reasonable next step Check before paying
You need this exact product before November 27 Consider a current offer that meets your target item price. Availability, delivery date and the selected variant.
The product is optional and the price exceeds your target Wait and keep a dated record of today’s offer. A future discount or restock is not guaranteed.
You are buying a Christmas gift in October Check when the recipient can test or return it. Do not assume a holiday return extension covers an October purchase.
The price requires joining Prime Check eligibility and whether the membership is useful to you. Disclose the membership cost separately; it is not an unconditional item-price saving.
The cheaper listing has a different colour, bundle or condition Treat it as a separate product choice. A similar product is not evidence of a lower price for your chosen variant.
Two eligible offers have the same item price Record a price tie and compare the disclosed purchase terms. Shipping and warranty can matter to your choice without becoming item-price savings.

Make one note for each offer: checked date, source URL, model code, colour or capacity, quantity, seller, condition, stock, currency, tax basis, membership requirement, item price and shipping. Keepa or camelcamelcamel can help with Amazon price history; Muchita checks current offers at other stores and does not supply a price-history chart.

The core skill

What Amazon's crossed-out
price actually claims.

Amazon shows more than one kind of reference price. Its own seller guidance describes a List Price, the suggested retail price given by a manufacturer, supplier or seller, and a Typical Price, the median price customers paid in its store over the past 90 days, promotions excluded. Amazon says it validates List Prices and may remove ones it judges misleading.

Neither answers your real question, which is what this item cost last week. Work through these before the percentage.

Know them by sight

The traps, and the counter-move
for each.

None of these is a scandal. They are ordinary retail mechanics, mostly disclosed somewhere on the page, and all built for someone in a hurry. Read them once now and you will see them coming.

What the law already promises

The rules on a reference price,
by region.

What you see on an Amazon page is shaped less by Amazon than by where you are standing. The same listing carries a different kind of reference price in Berlin and in Boston. These are summaries; the full text is one click away.

European Union

Any announcement of a price reduction must state the prior price, and that is the lowest price the trader applied during at least the 30 days before the reduction. It is Article 6a, inserted into the Price Indication Directive 98/6/EC by Directive (EU) 2019/2161 and applied since May 2022. It is why EU listings often carry a lowest-price-in-30-days line that non-EU stores do not.

Directive (EU) 2019/2161 on EUR-Lex

European Union: pressure and scarcity

The Unfair Commercial Practices Directive bans some practices outright. Annex I item 7 covers falsely stating that a product is available only for a very limited time, to force an immediate decision; item 5 covers bait advertising. Countdowns and almost-gone bars are judged against those.

Directive 2005/29/EC on EUR-Lex

Germany

Section 11 of the Preisangabenverordnung implements the prior-price rule: a trader announcing a reduction on goods must state the lowest total price it applied towards consumers in the previous 30 days, with carve-outs for individual reductions and short-dated perishables.

Section 11 Preisangabenverordnung

United Kingdom

Part 4 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 prohibits unfair commercial practices, defines misleading actions and omissions, lists practices unfair in all circumstances, and requires the total price to be given, including fees the consumer will necessarily incur. The Competition and Markets Authority can enforce directly.

Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, Part 4

United States

There is no federal 30-day reference-price rule. The Federal Trade Commission's Guides Against Deceptive Pricing, 16 CFR Part 233, say a former-price comparison must be against a price at which the article was actually offered openly and in good faith for a reasonably substantial period, and that a list-price comparison is proper only where that price is one at which the article is generally sold.

Deceptive Pricing, 16 CFR Part 233, FTC

A price reduction is a claim, and a claim needs evidence. A screenshot with a visible date is what consumer authorities ask for. Take it before you buy.

Follow the money

How Amazon and free tools
get paid.

Amazon earns in three ways at once. It takes a retail margin on what it sells itself, charges sellers referral and fulfilment fees on what they sell through it, and sells advertising to those same sellers. "Sponsored" results in search and on product pages are paid placements, labelled as such. "Amazon's Choice" is a badge assigned automatically against a particular search term, not an editorial award.

Coupon and cashback extensions are paid differently. Amazon runs an affiliate programme, and a tool that opens or rewrites a link can be credited for the purchase that follows. That is legal and common. It becomes your problem when the payment decides what you are shown, or when a tool replaces someone else's referral with its own. Both were alleged in a widely reported investigation of a coupon extension in December 2024 and in lawsuits filed afterwards; the operator disputes the claims. Five questions settle any tool.

Muchita's answers, in order: free, with no affiliate links and no paid placement; retailer links and the checkout never modified; it starts only when you ask, and there is no account; optional analytics off until you turn them on; every result links the offer it was verified against. Price-history tools answer a different question and sit well beside it. Keepa and camelcamelcamel both chart an Amazon listing's own past prices, and there is a side-by-side comparison of Keepa and Muchita at muchita.ai/compare/keepa.

Before and on the day

The eight-step checklist.

Most of this happens before the sale opens. On the day, the last four steps take about a minute each.

  1. Decide the product, not the category.

Write down the model number and the variant. A sale is a chance to buy what you already chose.

  2. Record the price now.

Screenshot the listing with the date visible and open a price-history chart for it. That is your reference; the crossed-out figure is Amazon's.

  3. Settle the membership question.

If you start a free trial only for this sale, put the cancellation date in your calendar before you shop.

  4. Set a target price in your own currency.

Include the delivery you expect to pay. A number chosen in advance is immune to a countdown.

  5. Check the same model at other stores.

Item price first, delivery as a separate line. Amazon is one shop, and October is busy at all of them.

  6. Read the seller, the variant and the condition.

Ships from, Sold by, the option selected in the buy box, and the condition grade for Warehouse or Renewed stock.

  7. Read the returns line before you pay.

How many days, who pays return postage, and whether any published holiday extension covers an October order.

  8. Check the total on the last screen.

Delivery, import charges, and whether a Subscribe and Save option got selected on the way.

Where Muchita fits

What Muchita does on an Amazon page,
and what it does not.

Muchita Shopping is a free Chrome extension for step five. On a product page, one click asks it to find the same model and variant at other stores and to verify each offer's item price against the offer page itself. The result shows the verified item price with delivery disclosed separately, and a link to every offer it checked, including the ones it rejected and why. Nothing runs until you ask, there is no account, and it earns nothing from your purchase.

Questions and answers

Fair questions,
plain answers.

When is Prime Big Deal Days 2026?

We have not verified official 2026 dates in the Amazon sources checked on September 11. The official FAQ still describes October 7–8, 2025. Recent US and European editions ran in early October, but last year’s date is not confirmation for this year.

Do I need Prime to buy the deals?

Yes, it is a member event. Amazon points new customers at a free 30-day trial, which becomes a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends. If the membership exists for one purchase, set the reminder the day you start the trial.

What does the crossed-out price on Amazon mean?

Usually a List Price, the suggested retail price provided by a manufacturer, supplier or seller, or a Typical Price, the median price customers paid in the Amazon store over the past 90 days with promotions excluded. EU listings may also show the lowest price of the previous 30 days.

Can I return something bought during the October sale?

Read the returns line on the product page, because the window is set per item and per seller. Amazon publishes an extended holiday window each autumn; for the 2025 season most items bought from November 1 to December 31 could be returned until January 31, 2026. Nothing was published for 2026 at the time of writing.

Should I buy in October or wait for Black Friday?

Buy when you need the exact product before November 27, the verified item price meets your budget and the purchase conditions work for you. Wait when you can do without it, have not settled on a model, or only the countdown makes it attractive. No one can guarantee that the same variant will be available or cheaper later.

Does Muchita earn anything when I buy on Amazon?

No. Muchita is free, with no affiliate links, no paid placement and no account. Retailer links and the checkout are never modified. It does not keep Amazon price history either; it compares the same model at other stores and links the evidence.

Dates are calendar facts for 2026, and the event is Amazon's. Legal summaries describe the cited texts as read on the date shown and are not legal advice. Amazon's customer help pages refused automated requests while this was checked, so pricing, deal-mechanic and returns details come from Amazon's own seller guidance and news posts, hedged where the 2026 policy is not yet published.
